New Highmark Stadium on track in Buffalo
The new Highmark Stadium, home of the Buffalo Bills, is on track for substantial completion by summer 2025. The team is expected to play all home games there starting in the 2026 season. The stadium will feature a natural grass field, a minimum of 60,000 seats, premium areas such as suites and clubs, and state-of-the-art facilities, including video boards, a new sound system, and enhanced concession areas.
The stadium is being built across the parking lot from the current Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, which will be demolished as part of the project.

The old Highmark Stadium (formerly known as Rich Stadium, Ralph Wilson Stadium, and Bills Stadium) has a seating capacity of 71,608.
The new Highmark Stadium, as per the current plans, will have a minimum capacity of 60,000 seats, with the ability to expand for special events. While it will hold fewer seats than the old stadium, the new venue is designed to offer a more modern experience with upgraded amenities and facilities.
In essence, it's a step toward creating a more modern, sustainable, and economically beneficial home for the Bills and their fans.
Buffalo Bills fans have mixed feelings about the new stadium being built. Many are excited about the modernization and upgrades, including premium seating, better amenities, and a more comfortable game-day experience. They also see it as a sign of the team's long-term commitment to Buffalo. However, some fans feel sentimental about the old Highmark Stadium and worry the new venue won’t capture its historic atmosphere. There's also debate over the use of public funds for the project and concerns about the reduced capacity of the new stadium, which could limit access for fans.
